Board Of Directors ExecutivesSteven Gal, Chairman and CEO
In more than a decade as a technology entrepreneur, founding and leading companies, Steven Gal has become an established expert in identity management and information privacy. Prior to joining ProQuo, Steven co-founded and helped build ID Analytics, Inc., the Identity Risk Management Company, where he led sales and marketing efforts for the company's market entries into the US and UK markets as well as the consumer, government and healthcare markets, and established the company's pioneering privacy and regulatory structure. Prior to ID Analytics, Steven was Group Vice President at HNC Software, Inc. (acquired by Fair Isaac) where he had general management responsibility for an HNC business unit focused on end-to-end data management and analytic marketing optimization for some of the world's largest credit card issuers. Prior to joining HNC, Steven ran global marketing and business development organizations in the enterprise software industry at such companies as Prime Response, Inc. (IPO, acquired by Chordiant Software) and Inference Corporation (Public turnaround, acquired by eGain Communications). He also co-founded and served as President and CEO of Semio Corporation (acquired by Entrieva). Prior to entering the technology industry, Steven was an Associate Professor in the Entrepreneur Program at USC's Marshall School of Business, where he taught entrepreneurship and strategy. He also spent several years on Wall Street in risk arbitrage and on the floor of the New York Futures Exchange. Steven is an attorney and a member of the California Bar. Steven sits on the Boards of Directors of ProQuo, and not-for-profits Identity Theft Resource Center and CARS Inc. of Jewish Family Services as well as the advisory council for Entrepreneurship@Cornell. He holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from University of Southern California School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. Christer DiChiara, VP Product
Christer DiChiara leads the company's product initiatives and product team. He brings more than 15 years of experience in product management, product innovation and strategic planning. Prior to ProQuo, Christer was VP of Consulting Services with ID Analytics where he led new service development initiatives to expand and enhance value creation for clients. While there, he also held senior product management roles. Previously, Christer was the Executive Director of Strategic Planning at HNC Software, Inc. (acquired by Fair Isaac), where he was responsible for developing growth strategies across product lines as well as managing research and competitive intelligence activities. Prior to HNC Software, Christer was VP of Marketing and co-founder of iDawg, Inc, which was later sold to ID Analytics. Before iDawg, Christer held leadership roles in New Product Development and Strategic Planning at Experian and was Global Director of Corporate Card Products at Visa International. Christer is a co-inventor on four patents pending in identity management and risk. He received his masters degree from the University of Hartford and bachelors degree from Bucknell University. Chris Kermoian, VP Marketing
Chris Kermoian leads overall Marketing efforts for ProQuo. He brings over a decade of experience at consumer Internet and technology companies. Most recently, Chris served as Vice President of Product Management and Internet Marketing at Become.com, where he joined as employee #5 and helped define and grow an award-winning Internet service for shoppers. Prior to Become.com, Chris held senior roles at AltaVista and Overture Services (which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2003 and renamed Yahoo! Search Marketing). At AltaVista, he led Product Management and Product Marketing functions and was responsible for guiding search engine functionality, search-related products, user experience, advertiser programs, and syndication programs. During this time, he also led the creation and growth of new business services from inception to over 30,000 worldwide customers. Chris has been a frequent speaker on search engine issues and search marketing programs. Before joining AltaVista, Chris held Product Management and Marketing roles at Sun Microsystems in the Solaris Software and Java Software areas. Chris was formerly a nuclear submarine officer in the Navy and worked in the Pentagon as military aide to a Navy Admiral. Chris has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and an MBA from Harvard Business School. James King, VP Technology and Security
James King has been leading multi-disciplinary teams of technology professionals for more than 35 years. Prior to joining ProQuo, Jim served as Vice President of Engineering and Operations for ID Analytics where he managed multiple areas including technical support, information technology, security and facilities management, and the build-out of the data center. Previously, Jim was Group Vice President of ASP Operations for HNC Software (acquired by Fair Isaac), where he was responsible for development, quality assurance and customer service for a wide range of software products. Before HNC, Jim was Director of Information Products Development and Interface Development for Pyxis Corporation, which develops automated dispensing and inventory control systems for the healthcare market. He also spent nearly a decade managing software development at Diatek Medical Technology, Inc, (DMT). Prior to DMT, he held a variety of engineering positions with SAIC, the US Navy, UNIVAC Corporation, and NCR Corporation. Jim holds a master's degree in business administration from National University and a bachelor's degree from Barton College. Faith Nilsen, VP Finance and Administration
Faith Nilsen has more than a decade of finance experience serving both start-ups and established public companies. Most recently, Faith worked for BasePoint Analytics, and prior to that, ID Analytics, where she served as Vice President of Finance. Previously, Faith ran finance and administration for a business unit of MIH Ltd. (NASDAQ: MIHL), a global developer of subscriber platforms providing television and Internet services, as Vice President of Finance. Prior to MIH, Faith held a variety of director-level positions for HNC Software (acquired by Fair Isaac) where she was responsible for forecasting $200M in annual revenues and expense management for over 1,000 employees. Faith also ran finance and administration from the earliest stages at Aptex Software, a provider of automated knowledge management technologies, and was part of the senior management team that led the sale of Aptex to HNC. Faith's prior experience was in the consumer financial services industry at Citibank. Faith holds a masters degree in business administration from Keller Graduate School of Management and a bachelors degree from Columbia College Chicago. Board Of DirectorsAndre Durand, Chairman and CEO, Ping IdentityAndre Durand is a thirteen year veteran of the software industry, a recognized leader in the identity industry and a pioneer behind the concepts of the digital identity network. In addition to his role as CEO of Ping Identity, Andre co-founded and co-chairs Digital ID World, the official identity industry conference. Prior to Ping Identity, Andre founded Jabber, Inc., a leading global provider of in instant messaging and presence management platforms serving both the carrier and enterprise markets. While at Jabber, Andre supported the incubation of the Jabber Software Foundation, a non-profit setup to facilitate growth of the Jabber Open Source project, where he served as chairman for 18 months, helping to drive adoption of Jabber's innovative hybrid open source and commercialization strategy. Prior to Jabber, Inc., Andre founded Durand Communications, a provider of client/server solutions for online applications, where served as CEO for five years before selling the company to Webb Interactive in 1998. Emily Melton, Director, Draper Fisher JurvetsonEmily Melton is a Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, where her primary areas of interest include software, technology-enabled services and consumer-oriented technologies. Emily initially joined DFJ in 2000, and rejoined the firm in 2005 after earning an MBA at Stanford University. While pursuing her MBA, Emily worked for the CEO of InSpa, an early stage consumer retail company in Seattle, where she was actively involved in developing the company's new market rollout strategy. During her tenure at the firm, Emily has worked closely with the teams and boards of a number of portfolio companies, including Mailfrontier (acquired by SonicWall), Pronto Networks, TrustedID and Wavemarket. She currently serves on the boards of Tagworld and NearbyNow. Emily holds a BA with honors and distinction in Political Philosophy and an MBA, both from Stanford University. Leo Spiegel, Managing Partner, Mission VenturesLeo Spiegel is a Managing Partner at Mission Ventures, a Southern California venture capital firm that invests in early stage IT companies. Prior to joining Mission Ventures, Leo Spiegel was President of Digital Island, Inc., a leading provider of global e-business network and content delivery services. Leo joined Digital Island as a result of a merger with Sandpiper Networks, Inc., the world's first content delivery service provider for the Internet, where he was the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, Leo won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Prior to his leadership of Sandpiper Networks, Leo served as Senior Vice President and CTO of Donnelley Enterprise Solutions Incorporated, an information management firm specializing in systems integration, outsourcing and software development. Leo was the co-founder, EVP and CTO of LANSystems, a network utilities software developer and international systems integration firm, which was sold to Intel Corporation and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company. Leo is a Director of Akonix Systems, Greenplum, Mochilla, ProQuo, RotoHog, Slacker, and Vativ Technologies. Leo is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Management Sciences. Leo is a member of the Dean's Advisory Council at the Rady School of Management at UCSD and President of the San Diego Jewish Academy. |
